We respect and value New Zealands dual heritage and uphold our comittment to TeTiriti O Waitangi by enriching our practice with the use and learning of TeReoMaori and Tikanga Maori.
Our philosophy and daily practices are underpinned by the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum TeWhariki and it's four principles of Empowerment | Whakamana, Holistic development | Kotahitanga, Family and community | Whānautangata, and Relationships | Ngāhononga are the foundations of our practice:

We are intentional about fostering positive, reciprocal, and responsive relationships between children, family/whānau, teachers, places and things as relationships are paramount for learning and development.
We provide a transition to school programme for our older children to help with a smooth transition of the next step on their learning journey. We go on weekly visits to the local school so that they become familiar and confident with a school environment.
Our uniqueness in being a mixed aged centre fosters Tuakana-Teina, younger and older tamariki are in the same space and learning alongside each other.
We value our partnership with families and the community aligining with the value of whanaungatanga, families are an integral part of our children's learning and our planning. Each family and their culture is welcomed and celebrated. We are committed to strengthen our connections in the local community.
We believe that tamariki learn best within a play-based learning environment that includes a mix of planned and spontaneous child-initiated play.
